Arborist reports

An arborist report is is a document that is filled out by an ISA certified arborist while surveying the condition of your tee or trees. Once assessed, it is then submitted to the city's forestry dept. The report contains specific details like the address and location of the tree, species, as well as an evaluation of the health of the tree and any concerns or issues pertaining to it.

In addition to documenting the trees issues, the report will also suggest the recommended course of action in order to fix the problems. These recommendations could involve multiple types of treatments, such as pest control, fertilizing the tree to help strengthen it, tree pruning or removal, root pruning to help revitalize the tree.

ISA certified Arborists

Arborist reports can only be completed by an arborist who is ISA certified. This gives them the ability to assess the trees situation and determine the best treatment for the tree with a detailed proposal.

Each tree has its own set of concerns, mainly if the damage is of an abiotic or biotic nature. Abiotic meaning issues that are caused from non-living sources such as forces of nature like a lightning strike, and Biotic meaning issues that are caused from living sources such as pests or fungi.

If you plan on doing work around you property yourself such as removing an injured tree or intend to do some landscaping or construction, you should consider looking into whether you require an arborist report first before you begin.

There are certain municipal bi-laws and regulations in effect that require an arborist report should you need to prune, cut or remove a tree, or perhaps some landscaping within your yard.

In some cases can an exemption can be made where a permit may not be required. Such as trees that are in declining health or that pose as a hazard to the property.

Why is an Arborist report necessary?

In certain municipalities within the GTA, an arborist report is required to be submitted prior to commencing a project where any existing trees are being planned for removal. These certified reports establish the evidence that the property owner, whether it be residential or commercial, has considered all the alternatives beforehand.

Fortunately our certified arborists at Etobicoke tree service are here to assist with this and ensure that it gets approved by the city. 647-693-8848
